Gaza Children Ta’afi (Recovery) Program: A New Hope for Them After the ِِAِggression

22 May 2026
The suffering in Gaza does not end when the bombing stops, especially when it has never truly stopped in the first place. Its devastating impact continues to threaten the lives of thousands of people across the Strip. In a small besieged land that has endured continuous attacks for nearly two years, where entire neighborhoods have been reduced to rubble, life itself has become almost impossible. Hospitals, homes, markets, and schools have all been targeted; more than 67,000 lives have been lost, while over 100,000 people have been injured. Families have been torn apart, and survivors continue to carry unimaginable trauma deeply rooted in their memories.
In addition to the devastation and casualties, the conflict has deprived people of the fundamental requirements for a respectable existence, such as potable water, secure housing, and adequate nutrition. Even mundane, everyday tasks are now considered a luxury. Getting an education, finding a job, or even just getting by in life is now out of reach for many families.
Nearly 70% of Gaza’s residential areas have been either partially or totally damaged, according to the latest statistics. As a result of the aggression, 68% to 80% of the working-age population is unemployed, and nearly 74% of Strip workers have lost their jobs. Meanwhile, the humanitarian catastrophe has been exacerbated by a sharp decline in the daily influx of humanitarian supply trucks into Gaza.
More than 637,000 Gaza youngsters who are of school age do not have consistent access to education as of today. Fewer than 10% of children get the bare minimum of dietary variety needed for proper development, and more than 60% of those children live in extreme food poverty. On top of that, around 31,000 cases of severe malnutrition will be reported in 2026, out of over 100,000 children younger than five years old. Additionally, over 2.1 million individuals, including over 1.1 million children, are in critical need of psychiatric assistance and protection. As a result of the humanitarian disaster, nearly 58,000 children in Gaza have lost either a parent or both of their parents.
Faced with these unimaginable hardships, standing by was never an option. This is why Tkiyet Um Ali has partnered with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization to launch a new initiative to aid Gaza. It focuses on providing psychological support and balanced school nutrition to children in Gaza. Through this article, we take a closer look at the Gaza Children Recovery Program and the impact it aims to create.
Gaza Children Ta’afi (Recovery) Program: About the Initiative
Tkiyet Um Ali, in partnership with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, has pledged two million Jordanian dinars toward the Gaza Children Ta’afi Program. The initiative is a multi-intervention program designed to support 3,000 children in Gaza, along with their mothers and educational staff.
The program provides educational support, school feeding, and mental health support for Gaza children affected by the war. In collaboration with Palestine Al Ghad Association, the initiative aims to address some of the most urgent challenges facing children in Gaza, including prolonged interruptions in education, rising food insecurity and malnutrition, as well as the psychological and social pressures caused by war and displacement.
The Recovery Program follows a comprehensive approach that combines nutrition, education, and psychosocial care over a twelve-month period. Its goal is to help children regain stability, continue learning, and recover within a safer and more supportive environment.
Goals of the Partnership Supporting Gaza
The Gaza Children Recovery Program represents an important step forward in supporting families across Gaza. The initiative was carefully designed after studying the humanitarian situation on the ground, ensuring that it responds directly to the urgent needs of children and their families. The partnership between Tkiyet Um Ali and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization was driven by the need to expand outreach and deliver aid more effectively and efficiently.
The program aims to:
- Provide a practical and integrated humanitarian response centered around children’s needs.
- Help children recover emotionally and regain a sense of safety and stability.
- Strengthen access to education, healthcare, and protection services for children in Gaza.
- Encourage donors, charities, and companies to support the initiative and maximize its humanitarian impact.
The first phase of the Gaza Children Recovery Program focuses on improving children’s health and nutritional well-being while enhancing their ability to concentrate and continue learning. It also prioritizes mental health support by reducing stress and anxiety levels, encouraging positive behaviors, and strengthening social interaction among children affected by war and displacement.
In addition, the program works closely with mothers by providing guidance in positive parenting and family support practices, enabling them to become active partners to help create a more supportive environment for their children.
During the prior Ramadan season, Tkiyet Um Ali initiated a multi-sectoral humanitarian response to meet the basic needs of impacted families by providing them with temporary shelter units and enhancing their access to healthcare and sanitation. This program expands upon that effort. Taken as a whole, these actions further the program’s goal of providing stability, hope, and dignity to children in Gaza.
How the Gaza Children Ta’afi Program Will Be Implemented
The Gaza Children Ta’afi Program provides direct support to three thousand kids in grades one through ten by building fifteen fully-equipped educational units. These units include areas for extracurricular activities, sanitation facilities, and classrooms. The locations of these units include Khan Younis, the Central Governorate, Gaza City, and North Gaza.
The program also provides all essential school supplies, including textbooks, stationery, and school uniforms, in addition to balanced school meals with two meals served daily to support children’s physical development and wellbeing.
Beyond supporting students, the initiative includes 660 mothers, sixty teachers, and twelve administrative and psychosocial support specialists. The program will deliver 360,000 nutritious meals and organize 720 psychosocial support sessions and recreational activities, including dedicated summer programs. It will also conduct 92 awareness and training sessions for caregivers.
Access to clean water, improved sanitary facilities, and the incorporation of solar energy solutions to maintain uninterrupted services within educational spaces are all part of the initiative’s plan to make schools safer and more sustainable in the long run.
Through this partnership with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization and in collaboration with Palestine Al Ghad Association, Tkiyet Um Ali is redefining Gaza humanitarian aid to go beyond emergency relief by integrating nutrition, meaningful education, and comprehensive psychological support.
Gaza Children Ta’afi Program: A Promising Step Toward a Better Future
A remarkable illustration of how humanitarian aid may become real hope that impacts families and children’s lives is the Gaza Children Ta’afi Program. The program’s goals extend beyond just distributing aid. Children who have endured years of war and misery are given the chance to smile again, finish their education, and acquire emotional and physical stability.
The program’s integration of nutrition, psychosocial support, and education strives to uphold the principle that every child has the right to a secure childhood and the opportunity to create a better future for themselves. Every child in Gaza can continue to find hope in the program, which helps them regain their dignity, develop their skills, and chase their dreams in a safe and nurturing environment, all thanks to Tkiyet Um Ali and its partners’ dedication to openness, accountability, and unwavering support.
