ABOUT THE PROGRAMS
Tkiyet Um Ali seeks to involve all members of society in its volunteering programs in Jordan with an aim to support families living in extreme poverty throughout the Kingdom. Tkiyet Um Ali offers a variety of volunteering opportunities inside and outside Amman, while reaching out to as many underprivileged families as possible. With their number reaching more than 40,000, volunteers are a key factor in the success of its day-to-day operations.
WAYFARER PROGRAM (SERVING HOT MEALS)
FOOD PARCEL PACKAGING PROGRAM
Packaging food parcels is a main volunteering program that offers volunteers the opportunity to participate in packaging Tkiyet Um Ali’s monthly food parcels at its warehouses in AlQastal, allowing them to better understand the magnitude of operations inside the warehouses including packaging the food items inside the food parcels and their quantities, depending on the category of parcel. FOOD PARCEL DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM
Volunteering in Amman and even in different governorates is possible for individuals who would like to distribute food parcels to the endorsed families at the partner associations. MAWA’ED AL-RAHMAN PROGRAM
Volunteers take part during the holy month of Ramadan in serving Iftar meals to more than 2000 fasting people at its Mawa’ed Al-Rahman tent at the main headquarters.
FIELD VISITS PROGRAM
The Field Visits Program provides the volunteering opportunity in the Kingdom’s governorates while witnessing the living conditions of families who have applied for food aid inside and outside Amman in cooperation with the Social Research Department. GARDEN PLANTING PROGRAM
Stemming from its belief in serving the local community in all ways possible, Tkiyet Um Ali volunteers can participate in planting the unprivileged areas to help improve the area where the program is held.
Spending Time With Children Volunteering Program
Volunteers will join children from Tkiyet Um Ali’s endorsed families in creating small handicrafts, nurturing their creative thinking through storytelling, and providing them with drawing lessons to help them unleash their hidden creativity and encourage them to generate innovative ideas. The volunteer is responsible for securing the necessary supplies for the volunteer program after coordinating with the staff of Tkiyet Um Ali.
HOME RENOVATION PROGRAM
Volunteers will help renovate or repair the houses of Tkiyet Um Ali’s endorsed families and help improve the living conditions of these families.
Spending Time with The Elderly Volunteer Program
The program volunteers will visit the senior beneficiaries of Tkiyet Um Ali in their homes, spend time with them and listen to their stories. Volunteer now
SHOUF BI AINAK PROGRAM
During the program, volunteers will be introduced to the mechanism of the packaging and distribution of food parcels. The program starts with visiting Tkiyet Um Ali’s warehouses, where volunteers are briefed on all stages of the operations, from the endorsement process to packing the parcels and distributing them to the endorsed families across the Kingdom.
Office Support Volunteering Program
Volunteers will support different sections and departments while providing the volunteers with new valuable skills that will assist them not only in any workplace but also in day to day life.
University Students Volunteering Program
Volunteering for Tkiyet Um Ali gives university students exposure to the working environment within different departments which relates to their field of study. This also gives them the opportunity to work in a real workplace for a three-month period.
Summer Training Volunteering Program “First Work Experience”
During the summer break, school students can participate in the daily tasks of Tkiyet Um Ali’s operations under the guidance of a TUA employee. This 60 hour volunteering program helps students gain hands-on experience with a chance to network with working professionals, and build professional skills even before going to college.
