In strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education, Tkiyet Um Ali  has launched its "School Feeding – Date Bars" campaign to coincide with the start of the new academic year. The initiative aims to support public school feeding programs across various govegovernoratesproviding students with nutritious daily snacks that boost classroom energy and focus.

Driven by TUA’s vision of a hunger-free Jordan, the campaign highlights the vital link between proper nutrition and educational attainment. The program distributes date bars made from 100% natural ingredients free from preservatives and added sugars, and packed with fiber and natural energy to help students stay active and engaged throughout the school day.

The date bars are locally produced by beneficiaries of economic empowerment programs run by Dar Abu Abdullah (DAA), TUA’s sister organization. This integrated model creates a sustainable socio-economic impact by supporting vulnerable families through employment while simultaneously improving child nutrition and investing in education.

Field evaluations have shown tangible improvements in student engagement, classroom participation, and attendance ratesespecially among early primary grades, underscoring the critical need for early childhood nutritional support. During the 2025/2026 academic year, the program reached 3,811 students across 20 public schools in Jerash, Balqa, and Karak, delivering more than 547,000 date bars throughout the school terms.

To engage the wider community, TUA invites the public to support the initiative by donating JOD 0.50. In return, donors receive a blue date bar (with nuts) as a token of appreciation, while a nut-free date bar is allocated to a student in need to accommodate potential nut allergies safely.

Samer Balkar, Director General of Tkiyet Um Ali, affirmed that the initiative represents a holistic approach to development:

"Investing in child nutrition is an investment in our collective future. This campaign bridges economic empowerment for families with food security for children, while allowing the community to play a direct role in creating a healthier, more supportive learning environment in Jordan’s public schools."
