Amman – March 10, 2026 – Tkiyet Um Ali announced the completion of the delivery of all 1,000 tents as part of its comprehensive humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip, aimed at improving shelter conditions for displaced persons’ camps. The tents were distributed within its shelter units located across five geographical areas, with a total value of JOD 950,000.
This humanitarian response included integrated essential services implemented across four phases, all of which were completed earlier this week. The first phase targeted eastern and western Gaza City, the second phase northern Gaza (Jabalia), the third phase the central area (Deir Al-Balah), while the fourth and final phase covered southern Gaza camps (Khan Yunis).
The intervention provided key services including water, health services, food assistance, and educational support, ensuring the protection of human dignity, reducing health risks, and strengthening the resilience of affected families, while also considering the seasonal needs associated with the holy month of Ramadan.
This response was implemented in coordination with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization and the local partner organization within the Gaza Strip, Palestine Tomorrow for Social Development Association, where tents were delivered to the most affected families based on approved beneficiary lists. The Ministry of Education also supported the initiative by providing teachers for the educational classrooms.
The nine educational classrooms accommodate approximately 243 students per session, with a total of 1,696 students benefiting from the program through a rotational learning system, serving students from kindergarten through grade ten to help them continue their education.
In addition, 40 sanitation units (bathrooms) were either rehabilitated or newly established. The sanitation facilities were assessed and prioritized based on the actual needs of each camp and population density, ensuring that the intervention serves the largest possible number of displaced families and enhances the sustainability of services after project completion. The distribution of newly established and rehabilitated units reflects the project’s capacity to address the severe shortage in sanitation infrastructure while maintaining a balance between building new facilities and maintaining existing ones, also providing a foundation for potential future expansion.
This initiative comes as a response to the urgent needs on the ground, at a time when the Gaza Strip is facing a critical crisis in providing adequate shelter spaces for displaced persons and those affected by the war. A dedicated unit was also established to serve as a safe space for widowed women and families of orphans. The project included replacing tents for some families and rehabilitating existing ones for others as an immediate solution to alleviate the suffering of affected families.
