AMMAN — The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) and Tkiyet Um Ali (TUA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to continue supporting food security initiatives

and assisting the most vulnerable families across the Kingdom’s governorates, reinforcing social solidarity and cross-sector partnership between the commercial and humanitarian sectors.

According to an ACC press release issued on Tuesday, the agreement aims to bolster TUA’s operational programs through the monthly distribution of food parcels to eligible families for an entire year, in accordance with TUA’s established criteria and operational procedures.

The MoU was signed by Senator Khalil El-Haj Tawfiq, Chairman of the ACC Board of Directors, and Samer Balkar, Director General of Tkiyet Um Ali.

El-Haj Tawfiq highlighted that this ongoing collaboration reflects the commitment of the ACC and the broader commercial and services sector to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and national efforts to ensure food security for marginalized households.

Speaking at the signing ceremony attended by ACC Treasurer Khattab Al-Banna and Board Member Falah Al-Saghir El-Haj Tawfiq noted that this initiative embodies the contribution of Amman’s business community toward sustainable humanitarian action. He emphasized that social responsibility is integral to the Chamber's mandate alongside its economic role, stressing that supporting disadvantaged families is a national and human obligation that fosters community resilience and social stability.

For his part, Samer Balkar expressed appreciation for the ACC’s sustained support, underlining the importance of private sector partnerships in broadening the reach of humanitarian assistance and ensuring the sustainability of programs fighting hunger and food insecurity.

Balkar added that the MoU will secure basic nutritional needs for sponsored households for a full year through monthly food packages processed and distributed under TUA’s strict health and safety standards.

Under the agreement, Tkiyet Um Ali will manage the procurement, preparation, and monthly distribution of food parcels to beneficiary families, ensuring sustainable food support in line with its verified selection criteria.

This MoU builds on the longstanding collaboration between the Amman Chamber of Commerce and Tkiyet Um Ali to strengthen joint interventions for food security and reach families most in need throughout Jordan.
