فضل الصدقة في دفع البلاء

There are many benefits of Sadaqah that Muslims aim toward. But before discovering these benefits, let us explore the meaning of Sadaqah and its types, in addition to how to donate through Tkiyet Um Ali and much more.

SADAQAH MEANING AND ITS TYPES

Sadaqah, also known as charity, is whatever the Muslim donates to poor people and those in need, these donations can be in cash, clothings, or food. Sadaqah is carried out in the aims of getting closer to Allah, and it is one of the good deeds in Islam.

Muslims giving Sadaqah may choose to do it through varying ways, and feeding the poor is one of the best ways to do so, 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr reported that a man said, "Messenger of Allah, which aspect of Islam is best?" He replied, "Feeding people and greeting those you know and those you do not know." But that doesn’t mean that Muslims shouldn’t participate in other forms of giving Sadaqah such as providing water for no exchange in public places, building mosques and schools, and Kafalah of orphans.

“By no means shall you attain Al-Birr (piety, righteousness, etc., it means here Allah's Reward, i.e. Paradise), unless you spend (in Allah's Cause) of that which you love; and whatever of good you spend, Allah knows it well.” Quran 3:92, Surah Aali 'Imran, Ayah 92.

As for providing food, this can be done through charities and organizations dedicated to giving food for those in need like Tkiyet Um Ali.

BENEFITS OF SADAQAH FOR SOCIETY

The following are the benefits of giving charity in Islam in terms of society:

  • It helps solve the issue of poverty in society.
  • It achieves kindness, mercy and solidarity among members of the same society.
  • It encourages people to be united.

Tkiyet Um Ali also keeps the meat of Adahi in its refrigerators so it distributes these meats for families in need all year round. In addition, the Wayfarer Program is dedicated to providing 400 hot meals daily for the needy.

The work of Tkiyet Um Ali stems from its belief in the big, important role that donations play in meeting the basic needs of families when they are faced with difficult circumstances preventing them from doing so themselves.

“Hand in hand, we can make a difference in the lives of our Jordanian brothers and sisters, as we strive to reach our goal of a hunger-free Jordan. While Tkiyet Um Ali’s interventions will continue adapting to upcoming challenges each year brings, we also have ambitious goals which are founded on our past achievements and strengths acquired over the past years” - Her Royal Highness Princess Haya bint Hussein.
